Flat-fee fiduciary planning for pre-retirees and retirees.

Services & Fees

What We Do

Every client's situation is different, but the questions are usually similar: Will my money last? Am I paying too much in taxes? When should I claim Social Security? How do I turn what I've saved into income I can count on?

The goal is simple: to give you the clarity and confidence to make these decisions and actually enjoy the life you've spent decades building.

We provide comprehensive financial planning and investment management for pre-retirees and retirees. Whether you're a few years from retirement or already there, we help you build and execute a plan that turns your accumulated wealth into a sustainable, tax-efficient financial life.

Our work typically includes:

  • Build a sustainable retirement income plan
  • Optimize Social Security timing to maximize lifetime benefits
  • Reduce lifetime taxes through Roth conversions, withdrawal sequencing, and required minimum distribution (RMD) planning
  • Design and manage an evidence-based investment portfolio
  • Coordinate estate planning with your attorney
  • Assess insurance and risk exposure
  • Serve as your ongoing financial sounding board

The specific scope is tailored to your situation — no two client plans look the same. This work tends to be most valuable for individuals and couples with multiple accounts, tax considerations, and meaningful financial decisions ahead.

When a question comes up — about a real estate decision, a family gifting strategy, a pension buyout, or anything else — you pick up the phone and we work through it together.

What This Looks Like in Practice

A couple approaching retirement needed to coordinate Social Security timing across two different ages and income levels while managing Roth conversions and staying below Medicare IRMAA thresholds. The integrated strategy reduced their projected lifetime tax burden by over $100,000.

A recently retired client had savings spread across multiple account types with no clear withdrawal plan. We built a year-by-year income strategy that balanced tax efficiency with the flexibility to adjust as life changed.

An executive navigating a retirement transition needed help evaluating a pension buyout, concentrated stock positions, and deferred compensation — all with different tax implications. We built one coordinated plan that addressed all three.

Why Flat-Fee Matters

We charge a flat annual fee based on the complexity of your financial situation — not a percentage of your assets.

This is a meaningful difference. In the traditional model, your advisor's compensation is tied to the size of your portfolio. That means any decision that reduces your managed assets — paying off a mortgage, making a charitable gift, funding a grandchild's education — also reduces their income. That's a conflict, even if it's rarely discussed.

In our model, those conflicts don't exist. Our fee is the same whether we advise you to invest more, spend more, or give more. The advice is shaped entirely by what's right for you.

For perspective, a traditional 1% AUM fee on a $2 million portfolio costs $20,000 per year — and rises as your portfolio grows. Our flat fee for a comparable engagement is typically lower, and stays predictable.

What Determines Your Fee

Your flat fee is based on the actual complexity of your financial life: the scope of planning required, the number and types of accounts, the frequency of meetings, and any special circumstances such as business interests, stock options, or multi-state tax situations. We discuss and agree on your fee before any engagement begins.

Annual flat fees typically range from $8,750 to $21,000. A one-time financial plan design fee of $6,000 to $12,000 may apply upon engagement. Fees are reviewed annually and adjusted for inflation, capped at 4% per year. There are no long-term commitments — we only ask for 30 days' notice. Ongoing fees are billed quarterly in arrears and prorated as needed.

Who We Work With

We work with pre-retirees and retirees, typically with $1 million or more in investable assets. Our clients are people who've spent decades building their wealth and want an advisor who takes that responsibility as seriously as they do — and who value thoughtful, long-term guidance over quick answers or one-time advice.

We work with clients in Shrewsbury, Worcester, Westborough, and the surrounding Worcester County area, as well as clients nationwide.

How it Works

Step 1: We start with a confidential, no-obligation introductory call to learn about your situation and see if there's a fit. No cost, no pressure.

Step 2: If it makes sense to continue, we'll ask you to complete a questionnaire so we can understand your full picture. We'll follow up with a detailed proposal of services based on what we find.

Step 3: Once we agree on the scope and fee, we begin the financial planning and investment management work.

If you're approaching retirement and want clarity around the decisions ahead, schedule an introductory call.
